This section gives you the opportunity to look for roommate but be aware that this can be dangerous. For your safety consider these recommendations.
Don't place your complete address and home phone number into the apartment for rent!
Don't post your complete name! stay with the truth as close as you can without compromising your homes safety.
Meet your roommate applicants at a neutral place first before showing your apartment.
Have some people you trust around in your place while showing the room.
Tell everyone to bring their passport and write down the number tell them it's nothing personal it's just the way you're doing things.
Don't hand out the keys unless you have the deposit and even better your roommate has moved in with his furniture.
Clean your apartment before showing it to strangers this way it's easier for you to keep in control and you're less likely missing any of your belongings. I don't want to imply people here are thieves but you don't know who is coming. A clean and tidy apartment looks better anyway.
Don't leave your roommates alone (out of sight) If two people came looking for the place together have your friends assist you because one could distract you while the other does the cleaning for you.
Try to get a home phone number before inviting people to your house a Mobile phone can be non traceable and is therefor a first choice for people with bad intentions.
Get as much information from your roommate applicants as possible before bringing them to your apartment. Where are you now? Can I call you back at your Hotel? What hotel are you staying? Who are you working for?
These are just some suggestions we make for anyone new to the Internet rental housing search. And do not necessarily apply to everyone in person.
